CHAMPIONS: Adventure, After School & Sports Programs is a leader in experiential education. We seek team players who are outgoing, enthusiastic, dependable, creative, organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about enriching the lives of children. We are accepting applications on an ongoing basis for the following positions:

 

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS

NOTE: All After School positions require a school year commitment from September – June.

 

After School Coach (team/club leader)

Work directly with elementary or middle school-aged students, facilitating a variety of fun and educational activities, including arts and crafts, dance, music, sports and physical games, science and math games, etc. Specialists are responsible for designing lesson plans for activities, addressing behavior management issues, assisting with snack and homework supervision.

This position is 15-20 hours per week, $10-14 per hour depending on experience. Most programs operate between 2pm and 6pm, Monday through Friday (some school schedules vary slightly).

 

After School Director

The Director oversees all activities associated with a site-specific after school program. The Director supervises, trains, and manages staff members and After School Specialists who lead classes in dance, music, art, drama, athletics, and academic assistance. In addition the Director will:

• Be responsible for all necessary paperwork: report writing, budget management, various forms and databases for attendance, participant files, staff evaluations, etc.
• Develop and maintain positive relationship with all stakeholders: participants, school staff, parents, administrators, colleagues, community groups, and staff.
• Attend professional development trainings and share information with colleagues.

 

This position is 20-30 hours per week, compensation depending on experience. Most programs operate between 2pm and 6pm, Monday through Friday (some school schedules vary slightly). Must be available for meetings and training some mornings and evenings.

 

Enrichment Teachers

Enrichment teachers supplement After-School curricula by offering classes in their area of expertise. Past classes have included music, dance, art, acting, chess, etc.

Minimum Requirements:

• Should have at least 60 college units completed or in progress.


• Must have at least one year experience working with kids in a group setting.


• Must have reliable transportation.


• Must complete Live Scan Criminal Background Check and TB Test upon employment.

ADVENTURE PROGRAMS

 

On-Call Adventure Staff

Work directly with our clients and lead them in sports, adventure, or teambuilding activities. The following is a list of standard, sample activities that may be part of a single- or multi-day program;

• Rockwall


• Mountain Biking


• River Rafting


• Rock Climbing (portable rock wall and outdoor top-rope sites)


• Sea Kayaking


• Skiing/Snowboarding


• Teambuilding Challenge Course (portable)


• Trekking – single and multi-day

Requirements:

• Must enjoy nature and outdoor activities and want to share this passion with others.


• Eager to lead and teach students groups of all ages.


• Be flexible to work on an as-needed basis.


• Must complete Live Scan Criminal Background Check and TB Test upon employment.
